What's In A Name?

What's In A Name?

Everything! So let me explain mine.

I have always hated taking out the trash. I have a thing with bad smells, I just can't handle them! I remember when I was a kid I would hold my breath when opening the dog food to feed the dog. I did the same thing whenever I threw something away in the trash and ALWAYS when I took the trash out to the bin that gets picked up once a week. As I got older I started to refuse to take out the trash.
"Taking out the trash is a man's job," I would say.

What a gender stereotype, right!? Chores should be split up by ability, not gender. I've really changed my mindset over the past few years, on gender specific roles in today's society. It's okay for the woman to take out the trash and it's DEFINITELY okay for the man to be in the kitchen and do laundry.
You can read our full story here but the long story short is this; My boyfriend is a T8 Paraplegic and has been wheelchair bound since 2004. This fact affects our lives in more ways than you would ever think of until you're living in the situation. Through trial and error, we both find ways to make it work everyday.

Still confused?

Okay, let's tie
it all together.

This blog will follow the ups, downs and all arounds of a special love story with a twist. A 16 year old boy turned handi-capable man and the able bodied girl that is changing her mindset about trivial things and committing to loving him through thick and thin. Cause here's the thing...
It may not always be easy, but it will always be worth it. <3
